Helping You with the Reorganization of Debt Under Chapter 13
Bankruptcy Lawyer in the San Fernando Valley
If you face financial difficulties, but do not qualify to permanently discharge debts under Chapter 7 or just want to save your home from foreclosure, a Chapter 13 reorganization plan can help you stop the harassing phone calls and letters and even deal with foreclosure proceedings. You want an experienced attorney to guide you through the process, so that you can get a fresh start.
At the Law Offices of Michael Poole, we focus our entire practice on consumer bankruptcy, including creating plans for debt reorganization under Chapter 13. We have built our practice on a commitment to accessibility and personal service. When you hire us to handle your bankruptcy matters, you will always work directly with our attorney.
We offer a free initial consultation to all bankruptcy clients. To set up an appointment, contact our office or call us at 818-892-5000 (toll-free 800-856-7421). We have four convenient locations throughout Los Angeles, California, but can also travel to meet with you.
Our Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Practice
In a Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceeding, you enter into new payment arrangements with your creditors, promising to repay your debts over a 3 or 5 year period. At the same time, your creditors are prohibited from calling, writing or taking any other action to collect a debt from you, other than through the bankruptcy process. If you make all the payments as scheduled, your unsecured debts will be fully discharged.
We handle all matters related Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions, including preparing a payment plan, filing all documents required throughout the process, and acting as your advocate with creditors, the bankruptcy trustee and the court.
With the proper guidance, you can use a Chapter 13 bankruptcy to keep your home, strip a second lien off your property, and cram-down your car loan (pay the market value of your car rather than the amount due on a loan).
